Swine influenza is endemic on most European pig farms, and on many of them it goes undiagnosed. The virus is shed for only a few days, so by the time you are looking at coughing pigs, PCR is often already negative. Regaining control means sampling the right age groups, identifying the strains circulating on your own farm, and vaccinating consistently across the herd.
